"I have been an account holder of Teachers Credit Union for almost half a decade now. The branch I frequented is the one at South Main Street, which is just a few blocks away from home. Besides the fact that they are located very close by, I also liked the fact that they have quite a number of ATMs in the Mishawaka area. Well, it's a rarity for credit unions to have a good number of ATMs, so it's definitely a plus point.
They offered great rates for almost every service they provide, another plus point, and their employees were always great! They were always friendly and professional and were really quick in doing their job. One thing I always confused about is their naming, Teachers Credit Union, made people think that it is only for teachers. Well, I'm not a teacher, and they treated me just the same. I think personally, they will be busier if they change their name, but it's just me.
Their rewards program are also great, you always get a cash rebate for what you spent on your credit and debit card each year, which is quite useful as I do use them a lot. However, one thing to keep in mind is that their cards seemingly are only useful in Indiana. My friend who traveled a lot tried to use it in other states to no avail, well, it could be a hassle, but thankfully I rarely travel around, so I never had the same problem.
I also used TCU to purchase my current house. At first, I was hesitant about getting a mortgage from them, as I thought that bigger banks would be a better option. Well, I did apply to several other banks before settling with Teachers Credit Union. Not only they offered a better rate, they were actually the one who processed everything the quickest. One other major bank gave me a headache for the whole two months only to found out that the agent forgot to lock my rate, so I was offered a higher rate than what was first agreed upon.
Teachers Credit Union, on the other hand, processed everything really fast, and I really liked how John, the mortgage broker, handled things. He was really patient in answering all of my questions, being a first-time home-buyer. I could tell that he went the extra mile to make sure the deal went through, and I am really grateful. The deal was closed in just slightly over three weeks, which was really fast by anyone's standard.
In short, I am a satisfied customer of the Teachers Credit Union. They were always on point with their businesses. I also liked how they were rarely busy even during busy hours, so I won't have to spend a lot of time queuing. I would definitely recommend the service of Teachers Credit Union to anyone, simply one of, if not the best Credit Union in South Bend."
