"I have used the service of Cash Store from time to time in the past. I favored the branch at Lowes Boulevard, Killeen because it's located close to where I live, only a few blocks away, so it's my go-to place to cash my checks, pay my bills, and take occasional payday loans from time to time. With that being said, I had mixed feelings about this place, mainly because their overall quality has deteriorated over the past few years.
In the past, they were always really professional about their jobs. They kept the place neat and tidy with a nice air conditioning and was always really helpful with their services. Although they were often really busy, especially during busy hours, there was rarely a long queue, so you can do your business in a relatively quick manner. Well, the most I've spent in this place was around 30-minutes, and that was a fairly complicated payday loan deal. Most of the time, they will serve you in just a few minutes, and you can go on with your business right away. They only charge a small fee for their check cashing service, even for big checks. You can also cash out your debit card without limit, which is an added convenience.
For their payday loan, well, first thing is that I would advise against payday loans in general, as the interest rates can be insurmountably high. However, if you are in a pinch, Cash Store can be a great option. Although their payday loan interest is still fairly high, it's relatively lower compared to other payday loan providers in the area. Not to mention, there are a lot of crooked places with hidden schemes and fees, and Cash Store is at least not one of them. You can rest assured that there won't be any hidden fees in taking payday loans from Cash Store.
However, during the past few months, they seemingly have undergone a change in management, and in turn, change of employees. I personally felt that their employees were worse than before, and were often rude. They also seemed to lack experience, so they often do things slower than the previous employees, and were unable to explain their own products to their customers. On one case, they even declined my payday loan because they mistook my history with someone else's. It's only after I complained to the manager that I had a healthy credit history and ask him to re-check that I finally got my loan.
With that being said, I feel that their overall quality has declined along with their management changes. While in the past they were an excellent institution in the area, nowadays they are only at best, decent. I truly hope that they will catch up to their previous quality real soon, as they are fiercer competition nowadays. If they fail to fix their new management, I think I'll just move to other similar companies in the area, as with many disappointed customers before me."
